What is Part P?

In 2005 The Government introduced electrical work into the scope of the Building Regulations.  Until then, there was no legal standard for electrical work to be completed to - there were standards for other aspects of building work (Part G is sanitation, Part F is ventilation etc).  We were given Part P.  This means that for certain aspects of works completed in domestic properties, they must be notified to building control.

So what is the NICEIC?

The NICEIC (National Inspection Council For Electrical Installation Contracting) have been around for a long time.  Members of this organisation have always worked to a high standard and customers have had peace of mind, knowing that a company that displays the NICEIC logo will complete the work correctly and efficiently.

When Part P came along in 2005, The NICEIC produced an arm of their organisation called 'Domestic Installer', of which we are proudly members of.  This means that all work carried out by ourselves is fully certified and insured, and it means that we are able to submit Part P notifications to the local council.  Our customers will receive all test certificates and Part P certificates via email or post.
